Then the US Army had to rapidly expand from an "occupation force" back into an attacking army. WW2 had only been over with for 5 years. During that time, the US Army, US Navy, US Marines, US Air Force, had all DE-MOBILIZED. Now, less than 60 months later, the same forces must quickly MOBILIZE.
