Best Answer
AnswerIt seems unlikely that the Zealots had much influence on Mark's Gospel. In fact, the Zealots opposed payment of Roman taxes, while Mark says they should be paid. The gospel theology is much closer to that of the Pharisees; in fact the Christians and Pharisees could have seen each other as rivals for control of Judaism, especially after the traumatic events leading up to 70 CE. Arguably, there could also be some Essene influence found in Mark. Scholars also see influence from Greek Cynic and Stoic thought.
