West and South
The Civil War caused tremendous political, economic, technological, and social change in the United States
the north & south found plenty of ways to raise money.
There was no industry in the south to speak of, and so the north prospered with its mills and industries, while the south was devastated
The North and South were based on different economies. The North was mainly a industrial-based economy and the South was a slave-based agrarian economy. Second, the South feared that the North would outvote the South in the Congress and conceivably force the abolition of slavery onto the south, as well as taxes and tarrifs which favored the North. Third, the South contended that they were a part of the Union by their own consent and that they were able to withdraw that consent whenever it suited them, thereby avoiding being outvoted by the North. Yet in the end, the whole thing boiled down to slavery.
The inventions and innovations of the mid-19th century helped fuel both the economies of the North and South. The manufacturing centers of the North could produce more textiles more easily and efficiently with the technologies while the plantations of the South could produce more cotton with agricultural innovations. Inventions such as the steam engine improved shipping of goods by land and sea.
North Korea is a Dictatorship and South Korea is a capitalist country.
In the Civil War, both economies were greatly affected by the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution introduced key inventions important to both the Northern and Southern economies. It produced telegraph, factory inventions, and the cotton mill. In the North, were a colder climate and less fertile ground existed, they focused on more factories and Urbanization, and inventions that improved the time and effort needed in making things like textiles strengthened the North's dependence economically on such products. The South's land was fertile, and though many of the farming population that owned land produced produce for the local market, the majority of the South's economy was based on the farmers that ran the larger plantations. These plantations required slaves for the production of large cash crops like cotton and tobacco. The introduction of the cotton gin increased manufacturing and also the demand for raw materials. In short, the Northern economy was based on factories, and the South was more plantationgrown.
