"Batch Recategorization" is a Supervisor-only tool that allows Supervisors to add a bulk amount of questions to certain categories. This is useful when a contributor incorrectly categorizes multiple questions in a category.

How do you recategorize questions in bulk on WikiAnswers?
WikiAnswers' Supervisors have a tool called "Batch-Recategorization" in which they can select multiple questions to categorize. Unfortunately, this is not available to non-supervisors; therefore the only way to do so would be manually. If you have a lot of questions that you think should be recategorized somewhere else, feel free to email WikiAnswers @ WikiAnswers.com (remove spaces) and they will sort it out.

Yes, a recategorization counts as a contribution. Every time you mark in or unmark a category, it counts as one contribution. Therefore, you can get a total amount of 6 contributions for unmarking 3 categories, and marking 3 categories.

Flags would be the second best option since most flags are simple and you get points for removing the flag and editing the answer to fix it. For Supervisors: Batch Recategorization is the most efficient way to get a lot of contributions. Again, flags would also be a good option. Batch Revert is also a good option but most times it is not appropriate to use this.

'Batch' is just another word for 'Bundle', or basically, a lot of questions, which is referred to as a 'batch' of questions. 'Split' is separating an alternate wording from it's parent question, thereby creating the term 'Batch Split'.

Why are there categories for all questions asked on Answers.com?
Supervisors have access a tool called Batch Recategorization (aka "Batch Recat"), where you can recategorize a lot of questions at once.There is currently a loophole with the Batch Recat tool that allows more than three categories to be added: If a question is already under 3 categories, and Batch Recat is used on the question, it is possible for it to be under 4 or more categories.However, unless a supervisor is using the Batch Recat tool, only 3 categories are allowed per question.
