This is the first of the Ten Commandments. Some scholars have noted that the commandment does not necessarily prohibit the Jews from worshipping other gods, merely that they must not come before, or above, God Almighty.
Thou shall have no other gods but me

In the Holy Bible, God gave Moses the 10 commandment that the people of Israel should like by. The first of those commandments is ÒI am the Lord thy God; and thou shalt have no other gods before meÓ.
The Bible says "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." It simply means that God is telling us not to have any other gods or idols that take the place of Him. This is called committing idolotry and it is a sin.
