Did you look at the denomination on the back of your coin? It can't say ONE DOLLAR because the last silver dollars were minted in 1935.
If you have a HALF dollar, 1945 is a fairly common date for that denomination, regardless of mint mark. Retail prices as of 01/2009 range from $6-7 for a worn coin to about $9 for one in like-new condition.
In all lower values they have the same value. Is values above MS60 the 1945-S takes a higher value.
