Best answer-The 2012 is a year that is gone...That year was conected to a 2012 fenomena, that was brought up by Hollywood move 2012 in which like in every apochalyptic American move, the world will go to an end...That brougth to a masive global belive that that will happen and that that is connected to a Mayan calendar, not considerng option that every calendar has to have end, like everything noirmal in the world...,Luckily it didn't happened, also people who are decendent of Mayan culture publickly told that everything with 2012 has nothing to do with world end, since some scientist didn't took other options...Good thing to do is not to belive to senzacionalist, who spread mass histeria...But people will reapet same mistake over and over again...

I've heard that 2012 is when the world is going to "end". I don't believe that. I think it's all a myth. People think the world is going to end because they believe everything they hear. And the Aztecs, an ancient people who created calendars, didn't make a calendar for 2012. So the world is going to end because we don't have anymore calendars? Nonsense.

God says only he knows the time and date of the end and no one else does. I believe that this is just a myth. the Aztecs had a circular calender unlike humans who have a straight timeline so they think that what happened before will happen again. So when the dinosaurs were killed, it was the end of the world for them. So now 2012 is where it landed for humanity to die. That could be true if that's God's will or it could be that scientists who think they know everything, just because history or science proves it.

This is all true but I don't believe it at all. I think it's a myth. I think we should all live happily and ignore the fact that some people say the world is going to "end".

The world is not going to end in 2012. So, stop worrying and live your life. If God wants the world to end it will. Who knows, the world could end right now, tomorrow or even in 2012 but it will not happen because of a stupid little legend!

I have found that the world is going to end according to the ancient Aztecs there calender ends in 12-21-2012

Also a theoretical date for the end of the world known as the "doomsday" date on the Mayan calendar.

As humans we have the right to believe whatever we choose. Technically there are evidential facts that can be used to prove this theory [the end of the world], but science really is just best guess. We won't know if this event will actually occur until the actual year of 2012.

2012 is the year after 2011 and the year before 2013. There is NO other significance to it than that. Some people think that the world will actually end on December 21, 2012 because that year is mentioned in ancient prophecies. I think this is utter nonsense as anyone who reads these supposed "prophecies" can read anything they like into them.

I believe that this whole thing got started because ONE of the Mayan calendars ended on that date. The Mayans has several different calenders that they used for different purposes. As for prophecies from The Bible or Koran, (or for that matter any other "ancient text"), they cannot have any significance, because the year 2012 in the Gregorian Calendar, had absolutely no correlation to the Calenders that were then in use by the different societies. How could they, when the Gregorian calendar wasn't put into effect until 1582 AD?

This will be just like the Y2K thing that everyone was so concerned about. The day will come and go and life will go on pretty much as it did before. End of Story.

They had said that world will end in 1999, than 2000, than 2001, nothing happened. They had said it before and they will keep saying, it is nonsense. The Maya never wrote that it will end, their calendar just ends in 2012.
