Apple iOS is a proprietary mobile operating system developed by Apple, powering its iPhone lineup and forming the foundation for other platforms like iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Based on the latest information from the iOS 26 public beta, released as of July 2025, it continues to evolve with innovative features. iOS 26 introduces a new design system called "Liquid Glass," offering a fluid, unified visual interface across Apple devices, enhancing the user experience with dynamic adaptations like 3D photo effects and customizable wallpapers. It integrates Apple Intelligence, providing smarter tools such as task suggestions in Reminders, live translations in Messages and Phone, and advanced image generation via Image Playground and Genmoji.
Functionally, iOS 26 enables seamless communication with features like polls and custom backgrounds in Messages, spam detection in calls, and Hold Assist for customer service waits. It also enhances daily tasks with a revamped Photos app, high-definition Camera recording with AirPods, and personalized alarm snooze options. The system prioritizes privacy with on-device processing and offers immersive entertainment through Live Activities and CarPlay integration. This update makes iOS a versatile, user-centric platform, blending aesthetics, intelligence, and practicality for an effortless daily experience.

You cannot downgrade any Apple products (legally). Also, I don't think there is an iOS 6 for Apple TV yet. I do understand though, it is confusing. The iOS version number for all other iDevices does not sync up with the version number on Apple TV for some reason. They might as well not call it iOS.
