Blackwing Lair is a level 60, 40-man raid dungeon located at the top of Blackrock Mountain, home to Nefarian. It was implemented in patch 1.6.
Nefarian is the ruler of the Black Dragonflight and the Chromatic Dragonflight. He is located in Blackwing Lair.
Blackwing was created in 1975.
Cards from the "Blackwing" archetype can be found in the pack Crimson Crisis. Be warned, YuGiOh 5ds 2009 only has the following Blackwing cards available: Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind Blackwing - Sirroco the Dawn Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame Blackwing Armor Master Black Whirlwind
Plenty of cards can help Blackwings, but generally you'll want to stick to the same backbone: 3 Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame 3 Blackwing - Bora the Spear 2-3 Blackwing - Sirroco the Dawn 2-3 Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor 2 Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North 1 Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind 2 Black Whirlwind 1 Allure of Darkness 3 Icarus Attack 2 Bottomless Trap Hole Those are really what you need; other cards like Delta Crow - Anti Reverse or Mirror Force/Torrential Tribute can really help a lot. Also about 2 Blackwing - Elphin the Raven and 2-3 Blackwing - Mistral the Silver Shield
not bad
Black Whirlwind uses the summoned Blackwing monster's ATK as a reference when resolving its effect. One point to this is that if you increase the ATK of that monster, by an activated or continuous effect, it means Black Whirlwind can potentially search for the same Blackwing, or a stronger one. However on the other hand, if the Blackwing monster has left the field before Black Whirlwind's trigger resolves, then it has lost this point of reference, it no longer has an ATK value for its search effect, and cannot search for anything. So, the Blackwing is summoned, triggering Black Whirlwind. Trap Hole is chained to this. Trap Hole resolves first, destroying the Blackwing monster. Black Whirlwind's trigger resolves without effect.
Look, that is a lions Lair. Welcome to my small lair .
Blackwing Armor Master and Blackwing Armed Wing are pretty much essential. 1 Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant is nice but not too necessary; really only if you play Vayu. Other than that, go with 2 Stardust Dragon, Colossal Fighter, Red Dragon Archfiend, Black Rose Dragon, Goyo Guardian, Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, Ally of Justice Catastor, and Chimeratech Fortress Dragon.
The animal returned to it's lair at night.
This depends on the raid in question. Classic raids (such as Molten Core and Blackwing Lair) need a level of at least 60 (although there are reports you can enter them at 58 already). Raids from TBC, such as The Eye, Mount Hyjal or Gruul's Lair require you to be level 70 or up. Raids from Wrath of the Lich King, such as Naxxramas and Ulduar, require you to be level 80. You can check WoWHead, Wowwiki or similar resources to find out the level requirement for each raid.
