He is best known for his dark demeanor and origin story where he swears to avenge his parents after seeing them shot and killed in an alley.
He is also known for being a mere mortal. He has no special powers and relies only on his physical ability, mental ability, and, of course, his money as billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne to pay for his gadgets which include batarangs and vehicles such as the Batmobile.
As a regular human, unlike Superman or Wonder Woman, he is often criticized as not being a "real" superhero, but that debate is up in the air.
