Chembakolli is a relatively poor region in Tamil Nadu, India. Many of its inhabitants are Adivasi people who were relocated from the forest preserve of Mudumalai.

ActionAid and Chembakolli ActionAid (a registered charity) is a unique partnership of people who are fighting for a world without poverty, in which every person can exercise their right to a life of dignity.
ACCORD, an Indian Non-Governmental Organisation, believes that the Adivasi people of the Nilgiri Hills should claim their land rights peacefully and helped them form their own organisation called the Adivasi Munnetra Sangam (AMS).
The Adivasi people are the original people of the region. They had suffered from losing the land they depended on. Members of the Adivasi community, ACCORD and ActionAid set out to make sure the Adivasi people gained their land back and held on to it.
ActionAid UK's Schools department has worked with ACCORD to produce a range of educational resources. 10% of the income from all Chembakolli products goes directly to the AMS.
