I have spent many Christmases in Cozumel and it is a beautiful time of the year. The weather is nice (high 70s) and though the water is still warm, I would recommend wearing a wetsuit if you plan to go diving. The Square is decorated with lights and a giant Christmas tree, and most years there are pageants and plays with the local children in the days leading up to Christmas. The atmosphere is wonderful. I would definitely recommend spending Christmas in Cozumel, especially if you're a Scuba diver; there is nothing like Christmas underwater in one of the most breathtaking reef systems in the world.
