I have chronic venus insufficiency, and it occurs when the blood in your legs does not circulate properly. Specifically in the ankles, the blood does not pump up through the veins at a normal rate. What results is a build up in the ankle, causing a reddish coloring on the outside of the skin and aching. This can not be cured, implied in "chronic." But, it can be treated by special tightening hosiery. Right now, the only thing that I have found to work are specially made (prescription) skin-colored knee-highs or full-length nylons. But, these can become cumbersome, especially now that I'm moving to a very hot climate. I hope that there will be an easier treatment in the future.
