what is the narrarators tone in sex lies and conversation
Deborah Tannen's tone in "Sex, Lies, and Conversation" is objective and analytical. She presents her arguments about gender differences in communication in a straightforward and academic manner, providing evidence to support her points without emotional bias.
Formal
Formal conversation is professional conversation that occurs between people who have a formal relationship. It is less casual than informal conversation and maintains a tone of respect and professional language.
An informal tone is when you speak to someone, like a friend, when having a normal everyday conversation with them. You are speaking to them in a friendly manner.
I can't answer that fully but I guess its the same reason why 85 percent of what people say when they are "joking" is actually what is true. It might be because they want to upset you or they are too scared to speak their mind etc. But it just might be that is what they really do mean. Who are you to say what someone else means or not. In our society, it is socially acceptable to tell "white lies" in order to be polite. When someone lies in a public place, it is generally to keep a polite tone to the conversation. If your issue is a private conversation, be aware that this person is not to be trusted if he lies. Move on and know that you know the truth. This person is not your friend! Friends don't lie to friends.
"ah" is a conversation marker. Depending on the context, tone of conversation, it is used to express doubt or interest in what the other person says (ah ?), or to express satisfaction, anger (aaaahhh!), pleasure, etc..

In consideration of other people at the table a subdued tone seems like the best thing to do.
A hearty tone is one that is warm, friendly, and enthusiastic. It conveys a sense of wholesomeness and genuine interest in the conversation or communication. It often involves using positive language and expressions to create a sense of comfort and camaraderie.
As I understand it, conversation voice is the tone of voice that you use when you are talking to someone. It should be pleasant to hear, with good expression. I believe that the idea is to make people actually listen to what you are saying, and feel more comfortable talking to you. Keep in mind that body language goes hand in hand with conversation voice.
tone it down. start a conversation with the guy instead of flirting right away.
Communication that is colloquial - i.e. more like a natural conversation. It may not follow grammatical rules 100%, but is usually easier to read and friendlier in tone.
Figure out what the two of you want out of your relationship! Sit down, it's time to have a serious conversation. Talk to your spouse about what is upsetting you in a CALM tone, so that they do not feel threatened (or the need to scream and yell) Let them know that you are getting tired of their lies and arguments, as nicely as possible. Try to not raise your voice so that the tone stays on a conversational level rather than gearing up to an argumentative level. Good luck, I hope the best for the both of you!
