An allele is one of the possible forms of a gene. Most genes have two alleles, a dominant allele and a recessive allele. If an organism is heterozygous for that trait, or possesses one of each allele, then the dominant trait is expressed.
DI/Di alleles (ISBT 010) Blood Group Alleles refers to the Diego blood groups and variations on this set of several alleles (approximately 25 of them) can affect the shape of RBCs (red blood cells). Most of the Di has 3 variations Di(a+b-), Di(a-b+) and Di(a-b-). Di(a-b-) is a Null Phenotype which means fails to produce normal gene function.
When all the parents are crossed to make hybrids in all possible combinations, this scheme of breeding crop plants is known as di-allele cross.
