Theoretically, a delta-wye transformer can step up or step down. In Europe, tertiary distribution Transformers are step-down delta-wye transformers, so that the secondary side offers a three-phase, four-wire, system offering 400 V line-to-line and 230 V line-to-neutral.

A transformer is used to step up or step down a Voltage supply.

How do you produce a step-up transformer in an ordinary transformer?

Transformer function is either to step-up or down the voltage. There is nothing like an ordinary transformer.

What is the different between et up and set down transformer?

the difference between a step up transformer and a step down transformer is that, in a tsep up transformer, the voltage secondary is greater than the primary side but in a step down transformer, the voltage secondary is lesser than the primary side

What is the differences between a step-down transformer and a step-up transformer?

the main function of transformer is to change the magnitude of Voltage. difference between step up and step down is step up will change the input voltage into a larger magnitude of output while step down is vice versa

Can one step up power from inverter with step-up transformer?

No. You can not step up power with a transformer. You can step up voltage, while stepping down current, or you can step up current, while stepping down voltage, but you cannot step up (or down) power.

Where can i buy a step down transformer online?

You can go to ebay.com. Then sign up for an account and search for "step down transformer."

How can you see that the transformer is a step down or a step up?

If the primary voltage (input) is less than the secondary (output) then it is a step-up. If the input is greater than the output then it is a step-down transformer.

When is a step up transformer used in relationship as to when a step down transformer is used?

If the voltage needs to be increased from a lower voltage to a higher voltage a step up transformer is used. If the voltage needs to be lowered from a higher voltage to a lower voltage a step down transformer is used.

Why transformer is used?

A transformer used to step up or down the value of voltage.

What will happen to frequency of current when voltage is changed using a step up or step down transformer?

Frequency does not change when you use a step-up or step-down transformer. Only current and voltage is changed.

What is the operation of a transformer?

A transformer is a static device which is used to step up or step down the voltage in a powered circuit.

How do you explain about transformer?
