Hannah was the mother of the prophet Samuel.
She was well known because of how she handled her situation. She was married, but unable to conceive a child. She went to God and prayed and implored and prayed some more. She was very sincere in pouring out her heart and praying for a child.
She made a promise in 1 Samuel 1:11 that if she bore a son, that she would dedicate him to be a true servant of Jehovah God.

And, true to her word, after he was weaned she took him to the temple and placed him in the care of the priests. She visited him every year and brought him a new sleeveless coat.
After that, Jehovah also blessed her with more children.

She prayed intensely for childbirth; and when God granted her prayer, she sang a song of praise to Him (1 Samuel ch.1-2).
