One can only assume that the question is offered as some sort of comment related to the flag of Hawaii. The Union Jack honors Great Britain but some consider it to be a slap in the face for the lower 48. Hawaii did not have the American Revolution or the War of 1812 chiseled into its history book. The Redcoats in Hawaii's history were benefactors and not scoundrels. When the Union Jack flew on a ship coming into harbor it was never seen as a threat, but as an ally who might be coming to offer aid, comfort and defense to a Pacific Nation. Other flags have come to Hawaii as tyrants and oppressor's. (And that includes Japan on 7 December 1941).
