The caste system has 4 classes and 1 class that people don't really include as part of the caste. The highest class are the Brahmin. They are teachers and priests and are believed to live perfect lives. Therefore if your a Brahmin you will (when you die) break free of reincarnation and go to heaven. The next class is the Kshatriya. They are warriors and protectors and are expected to enforce rules. The next class are the Vaisha. They were merchants and traders who had to farm the land and tend the cattle. Finally the last class are the Sudra. They were laborers who were treated like slaves and they weren't allowed to take part in rituals or study the sacred texts. Then theres the untouchables. They were so low that it was considered bad luck to even look at them and they weren't even considered part of the caste system. They would do dirty jobs such as burying bodies and they would get their clothes off of corpses.

The Caste System in Hinduism divides society into four main categories: Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (merchants and farmers), and Shudras (laborers). Beyond these four main categories are the Dalits or untouchables, who historically faced discrimination and social exclusion. While the caste system is not as rigid as it used to be, its lingering effects can still be seen in some aspects of Indian society.
