The only holy Islamic writing is the Quran. The Quran is God revelation to Prophet Mohamed (peace upon him) by the Angel Gabriel (Jibril). The God revelation of Quran to prophet Mohamed started in year 610 until year 632 when Prophet Mohamed died. The Quran remains preserved, word by word, as revealed by God to Prophet Mohamed to this day.
After that, the collection of sayings, actions, and silent approvals of prophet Muhammad are highly respectable and strongly obeyed but not considered holy or sacred ( The compilations are called Ahadith in plural or Hadith in singular ).
There are also Sacred sayings that revealed by God to Prophet Mohamed but not belonging to Quran and not preserved by the exact wording, as Quran. These sayings are called in plural as "Ahadith Qodsiya" or in singular "Hadith Qodsi".
Different sects and schools of thought within Islam consider the books written by their founders respectable, but not holy or sacred.
