What is Jamaica like?

Jamaica has two types of climate; an upland tropical climate on the windward side of the mountains; and a semiarid climate on leeward side predominates. Jamaica has warm trade winds from the east and northeast that provide rainfall throughout the year.

Jamaica's temperatures are normally consistent throughout the year, which average 25C to 30C in the lowlands and 15C to 22C at high elevations. In the Blue Mountains, which has an excellent climate for growing the coffee that the region is known for, temperatures can drop to 10C.

Jamaica's climate is tropical with constant warmth through out the year. Snow had never fallen in Jamaica, except for in it's highest mountain 'Blue Mountain', which people are still trying to find out if it is true. You can visit Jamaica right through the year if you want a place for vacations and so on. There are a lot of tourist attractions, these include:

• Dunn's River Falls-a waterfall near Ocho Rios, where cold mountain water cascades 1,000 feet (300 meters) down naturally terraced steps. Families will enjoy the swim; the water is mountain runoff and fairly cold, which is perfect on particularly hot days.
• Negril Beach-Jamaica's resort central is Negril, a 7 mile (11 kilometer) stretch of classic white-sand beach lapped by the azure Caribbean waters.
• Dolphin Cove-Swimming with dolphins is on most people's must-do lists, and WYSIWYG Cove offers a one-on-one encounter with dolphins and sharks like no other in Jamaica. You can touch, hold, feed and of course swim with the dolphins, and even interact with sharks.
