Jehovah is the name given to God. Or, more accurately, the name by which God revealed himself to Moses. Jehovah is an Anglicised version of Jah Weh - 'I am'.
Exodus 3: 14-15:
"God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
Thus Jehovah is the name given to God. However, to the Jew this name was inutterable, nor could it be writen down as it was regarded as too holy. Instead, they replaced God's name Yah Weh with 'Adonai' meaning 'Lord'.
In a Bible today, wherever you see the word 'Lord' in the Old Testament (for example, there are dozens of times in the prophets, especially Isaiah) where the word 'Lord' is written with a large capital 'L' and small capitals 'ORD' this means 'Adonai', and, in turn, Yah Weh, 'I am'.
JEHOVAH HAS SPOKEN THEY WERE 10 MENTINED IN TUE BIBLE...
1 Peter 5: 6
You can see it from Judges 6:24. :)
One can find information about Jehovah by reading the Bible. Public libraries would have books available with information about Jehovah. One could also purchase a book from a bookstore.
Depends on the Catholic translation.
Jehovah is God. Jehovah's Witnesses do indeed believe in God, yes.IT ALSO SAYS IN BIBLE THAT JEHOVAH IS GOD. Also view Psalms 83:18 and Isaiah 43:10 speaking about how we are "his witnesses"....
Yes because the Bible commands us to honour our parents and Jehovah's Witnesses strive to live by bible standards.
It's a Hebrew thing, so you won't find it in Bibles aside from the Hebrew Bible.
Not really sure what the question is but the ''New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures'' is the Bible used by Jehovah's Witnesses.
The name Jehovah is not used in the English Standard Version of the Bible.
A Jehovah's Witness is someone who gives testimony (witnesses) about Jehovah, the God of the Bible.
Jehovah's Witnesses have taken their name from a passage in the bible. Isaiah 43:10 reads : "You are my witnesses is the utterance of Jehovah" they adopted the name in 1931 (prior to that they were simply called 'bible students') and they did so because they view their primary purpose as being witnessing or speaking about God. God's name in the bible is "Jehovah" (and English rendering of the Hebrew YHWH) as found in Psalms 83:18 (see King James Vesion).
