I have a tube from my grandma's medicine chest. It is in a metal tube with no date on the crimp. Tube is red on top and white at bottom, and about 5 inches long and 1-1.5 inches wide. It has a twist-off black hard-plastic cap. The ointment is ivory colored and thick; I would say thicker than desitin. I don't know if the original state was different, because this stuff has to be about 30-40 years old in my best guess. Front of tube: ACTIVE INGREDIENDS Oils of Spearmint, Bay, Wintergreen (Syn.), Salicylic Acid, Lanolin, Zinc Oxide, Carbolic Acid (Phenol) 0.44%, Ortho-hydroxyphenyl Mercuric Chloride .056%. Passive base: Petrolatum, Paraffine. 1-1/4 oz. Avoir. KIP, INC. Los Angeles, California Back of tube: FIRST AID BURNS-SCALDS sunburn CUTS, BRIUSES Apply directly-or on clean cloth to injured surface. Change dressings often. Made in U.S.A. "KIP" Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. I hope this is helpful. I have a tube from my grandma's medicine chest. It is in a metal tube with no date on the crimp. my question is, where can I buy Kip burn ointment now?
Kip brand burn ointment is no longer being made. There is a good substitute on the market, though. WJ is a brand of burn ointment that is very similar to Kip and is manufactured by Water-Jel Technologies in Carlstadt, New Jersey.
I'm not sure if it is the exact same product as you had, but you can purchase an ointment for a mild burn named "KIP PYROL-Hi" from Sato Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and KIP YAKUHIN Co., LTD. in Japan.
polysporin medicated ointment
go to the doctor and ask for an ointment
No. It is not advisable to use A and D ointment on a 2nd degree burn blister that has split openeven if you do not have bacitracin. you can just run the burn under cool water to avoid infection.
Immediately run cols water over it for a minute or so. Put a burn ointment on it if necessary.
It is not recommended that a person put cortisone on a burn. Aloe vera or an ointment is the best option for burn aftercare.
hi
To cure a rug burn, you should run cold water over it, dry the affected area, and then apply an antibiotic ointment. Try not to wear fabric over the rug burn. It should heal in a few days after repeated applications of the ointment. A rug burn occurs as the result of friction.
You treat it like any other burn--first you run it under cold water, and then after the burn is cool, put on some burn ointment (if you have any). Then, bandage the burn AND KISS IT BETTER! :)
