Nearctic is one of the six bio-geographic regions of the world, it covers whole of the North America excluding southern half of Mexico and southern tip of Florida.

They live in the Nearctic as far south as Texas or the Gulf coast states.

It can be used for racing and it is actually quite good (Norther Dancer was a Canadian Horse) but they are rarely better than the thoroughbreds. Northern Dancer was a thoroughbred, out of Natalma, by Nearctic, and a grandson of Native Dancer. He was however, from Canada, but he was a thoroughbred.
Northern cardinals are native to the Nearctic region. They are found throughout Eastern and Central North America from Southern Canada into parts of Mexico and Central America. They have also been introduced to California, Hawaii and Bermuda.
