As with any animal, rapid weight fluctuation is unhealthy in cats. Likely you would not want the cat's weight to fluctuate more than about 10% -- a smaller, 10-pound cat should range from 9 to 11 pounds, a 15-pound cat should vary no more than over the range 13 lb 8 oz to 16 lb 8 oz. Cats can get dehydrated, of course, and they will then lose significant weigh and regain it as they rehydrate, but that is unusual.
Most patients gain weight after surgery.
Totally depends on the cat. A normal weight for an American Shorthair (what your tabby probably is) is probably something like 5-10 pounds. If you have any major concerns about your cat's weight, ask your vet!
Yes. The symptoms can be due to normal illnesses or to hormone fluctuation.
which foods and nutrients can cause fluctuation in weight can also be found here.
Cats should usually weigh around 6-10 pounds. If your cat is overweight, look on the bag of food you are feeding him/her. it'll say the weight range and how much food you should be giving it A DAY. My cat weighs 14 lbs. Whoops....
I have no answer, but the exact thing has happened to my cat since I put my other Cat down a few weeks ago! I am wondering if it is a kind of cat depression?
The weight of a cat in metric units is usually measured in kilograms (kg).
This sounds like this cat has renal failure. Please take this cat to a vet.
Let me tell you this, if you cannot feel the Cat's ribs, then he/she's overweight. I think there isn't an average weight for cat, but female cat weight less than male cat. And I think healthy male cat weight between 9~13lbs, healthy female cat weight between 6~9lbs.
You'll have to specify, are you talking about normal for you or your cat?
Yes. IT is normal for a cat to love your husband
