Israel did not ruing anything that had to do with oil. It makes no sense - the oil-producing countries are going to sell oil, and they are going to have competitive pricing until there is a shortage of oil, when the price goes up.
The price of gasoline, say, also can rise in the US due to taxes per gallon levied by each State or by the US government.
Finally, Obama stated in a recent speech that he would not mind if gasoline prices went up to $5 or $6 per gallon. I strongly suspect that he is aiming for the government to sell gasoline at some point, making the US citizens be at their mercy. (This is already, truly, happening with national health care), and has happened with General Motors especially with their horrible Volt electric car . . . the one that catches fire with no warning.
