Ford had four engines in the 5000, the 233 cubic inch displacement (cid) gas and diesel and the 265 cid gas and diesel engines. They also had two transmissions, an 8-speed manual and the Select-O-Speed, kind of an automatic transmission. I have a 1972 265 cid gas with the 8 speed transmission. Here's a summary of the Nebraska tractor tests (all PTO hp ratings are at rated engine speed of 2100 rpm): Test 879, April 9, 1965. 233 cid diesel, 8 speed manual, 55.96 PTO hp. Test 880, April 10, 1965. 233 cid gas, Select-O-Speed, 54.17 PTO hp. Test 932, April 21, 1966. 233 cid gas, 8 speed manual, 60.37 PTO hp. Test 933, April 22, 1966. 233 cid gas, Select-O-Speed, 58.49 PTO hp. Test 996, November 25, 1968. 265 cid diesel, 8 speed manual, 67.23 PTO hp. Test 997, November 25, 1968. 265 cid gas, Select-O-Speed, 65.54 PTO hp. Test 998, November 25, 1968. 265 cid gas, 8 speed manual, 67.31 PTO hp. Test 1000, December 2, 1968. 265 cid diesel, Select-O-Speed, 66.49 PTO hp.

PtO+H2O
As engine rpm increases so does pto speeed And if you tach your motor to an excessive amount of RPMs while the PTO is engaged, it will destroy that PTO, leading to zero PTO RPMs.
