Hi. I live in NW Pennsylvania in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. This past winter there were some record breaking cold nights averaging about 0% with it being -20% windchill. The coldest day in Pennsylvania's history is January 5, 1904. On this date it actually was -42%. I can't even imagine what the windchill factor would have been on this date. I have lived in NW Pennsylvania all my life and in the mountains it usually starts snowing in October (sometimes earlier) and the last snow of the season is usually early May. Therefore, we are only guaranteed about 4 months of NO SNOW.
