one small step for man one giant leap for mankind
It was when Stonewall Jackson was fatally wounded, having had his left arm amputated. Lee said "He has lost his left arm. But I have lost my right arm."
That was Robert E. Lee when he was told that Stonewall Jackson had had his left arm amputated. Jackson was shot in the arm so had his arm amputated then it had a separate burial for his arm but Lee means like he lost his right hand man. Jackson was important in the war and on Lee's side (Confederacy) so when he lost an arm it was a big deal.
Stonewall Jackson had his left arm amputated at the Battle of Chancellorsville.
Lee did not lose an arm, it was Jackson, who was wounded then died at Chancellorsville..There the arm is buried.
yo mmmamam
Its Purple!
No, I think Lee said it himself, after Stonewall had his left arm amputated. "He has lost his left arm, but I have lost my right arm." Stonewall died from complications of his wounds, and Lee was devastated to lose his famous partner. It seems no accident that Lee's health began to fail at this time - could have been psychological. (He wasn't on good form at Gettysburg.)
no
