What is Revelation's 6th seal?

Revelation's sixth seal is the last "sign" before Jesus Christ returns to earth with the Kingdom of God.

If you notice in the fifth chapter of Revelation, where Jesus is declared the only one worthy to open the "scroll" sealed with SEVEN seals.

"...I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne [the Father in heaven] a book [scroll] written within and on the backside, sealed with SEVEN seals." (Rev.5:1)

In the following chapter six... Jesus strips away only SIX of those SEVEN seals.

The seventh seal is THE DAY OF THE LORD... the prophesied time of GOD'S WRATH... the return of Christ... and the establishment of God's Government on earth.

The SIXTH SEAL is the final global sign [HEAVENLY SIGNS - the shaking of the heavens] that reveals to the world that Jesus' return is imminent... and that we are to "look up for our salvation."

Of all the other mysterious seals that seem confusing to people as to what they mean... the sixth seal is straight forward and means exactly what it says.

It's a GLOBAL DARKENING OF THE ENTIRE EARTH filled with falling stars and meteor showers and mountain and island-moving earthquakes... that is both designed to curtail the potential Great Tribulation and what would otherwise be WORLD WAR III, which would end all life on earth - and - it's designed to let the world know that the Lord is approaching the earth in wrath.

"...then shall be Great Tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, THERE SHOULD NO FLESH BE SAVED: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, HERE IS CHRIST, or there; BELIEVE IT NOT...: (Matt.24:21-23).

Jesus is describing the GREAT TRIBULATION in Matthew 24:9-28... which corresponds to Revelation's SEAL 5!

All during the Great Tribulation, millions of professing Christians who are being taught today that Jesus will carry them all off safely into heaven before that time... will be wondering WHERE JESUS IS! Rumors will abound and there will be "Christ-sightings" everywhere. But... BELIEVE IT NOT!

Revelation's SIXTH seal, the darkening of the earth... stops man from continuing on his path of destruction... and makes him pause:

"...men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: FOR THE POWERS OF HEAVEN SHALL BE SHAKEN. And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." (Luke 21:26-27).

Revelation's SIXTH seal marks the shortening of the Great Tribulation.

"...I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; and the stars of heaven fell unto earth... and the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of there places..." (Rev.6:12-14).

"...immediately AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and THEN SHALL APPEAR THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN IN HEAVEN..." (Matt.24:29-30).

"The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the GREAT AND THE TERRIBLE DAY OF THE LORD COME." (Joel 2:31)

So, Revelation's sixth seal comes BEFORE the Day of the Lord... the time of Jesus' return to earth "AT THE LAST TRUMP" with His Kingdom... which is the SEVENTH SEAL of Revelation, the entire remainder of the book of Revelation.

"...when He had opened the seventh seal... I saw seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given SEVEN TRUMPETS." (Rev.8:1-2) Of which, Jesus returns at the sounding of the seventh.

"...the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and HE SHALL REIGN FOR EVER AND EVER." (Rev.11:15)

Revelation's sixth seal will cause all the nations of the earth to "MOURN"... because this prophecy of the darkening of the earth is known by all men. Right now... men don't believe it will happen... but, they know about it. And when it finally happens:

"...the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said unto the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne and FROM THE WRATH OF THE LAMB: for the GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH IS COME: and who shall be able to stand?" (Rev.6:15-17)

"...and then SHALL ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH MOURN, and THEY SHALL SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY." (Matt.24:30)

For all of this world's great ignorance of The Bible and God's Truth... the one thing it knows is the sixth seal of Revelation and the coming darkening of the earth and the unnerving shaking of the heavens - which is the final sign that marks Jesus Christ's imminent return to the earth with power and great glory.

Then, all the nations of the earth will "believe."
