There is many legends about Rome's birth, but I will tell you the one about Remus and Romulus. Remus and Romulus were twin brothers. Their mother is Rhea Silvia. Their father is the god of war, Mars. Rhea Silvia is the daughter of the king Numinor. She was deprived of the throne by her brother, Amulius. Amulius feared that his grand-nephews, Remus and Romulus, would take the throne. He ordered to throw Remus and Romulus in the Tiber. But they were thrown in the water in baskets and they survived. A wolf found them and nursed them. (There is an another version where a prostitute called "the wolf" found them.) Later, when they discovered the secret of their birth, they killed Amelius. Romulus and Remus decided to found a city. They had a fight because they disagreed with the name they will give to the city. In the end of the fight, Romulus killed Remus. Romulus named his city "Roma".

Romulus and reamus building it
No, by Roman legend they were the twin sons of Mars, god of war. They were abandoned at birth, and then found and raised by a she-wolf, and then they were raised by a shepherding family. Romulus is credited with founding the city, and in turn the empire, of Rome.

It goes back to the myth of Romulus and Remus, they built Rome where their wolf mother found them-the city was named after Romulus because he killed his brother and gave his name to it.

Romulus and Remus were twins. There is no record of who was born first, but being twins, they were more than likely born within a few minutes of each other, if they were real in the first place.
