Native Americans did not have last names. We were only given last names when European contacts forced them onto us-so they were Anglicized names such as "John" and "Williams". Sacagawea did not have a last name.
Sacagawea's full name is... Sacagawea, her name meant 'Bird Woman'.

ANSWER:The history books only have her name listed as 'Sacajawea', sometimes spelled with a G in place of the J. No last name or surname is given. See the related link for more information. Remember, Sacajawea was property not a person she had been captured by a different tribe in a raid, they had sold or traded her to another tribe, and so on until the french fur trapper bought her and married her. As property she had no need for a full name. She belonged to him both as purchased property and as wife. This was not at all unusual at the time. Many men purchased wives. As a wife though she could legally take her husband's last name: Charbano. So I guess we could call her Sacajawea Charbano.
