Saint Laura of Saint Catherine of Siena was a missionary who founded the
Congregation of Missionary Sisters of Immaculate Mary and of Saint Catherine of Siena. She worked among the poor, especially Indians, in South America. She is not currently a patron saint.
St. Laura died in 864 a martyr. Born in Cordova, Spain, she became a nun at Cuteclara after she was widowed, and was scalded to death by her Moorish captors. Feast Day Oct. 19
