I found the answer while I was searching...
Apparently the rear shocks/struts have an external oil cannister that pumps oil into the struts when the cargo/boot area is loaded up with weight. From what I read, the rear will sag with a bit of weight over it, but after a 1-2km drive the oscillation caused by bumps in the road does the actual pumping of the oil into the struts.
Now I've got to go try this for myself!

Someone that is looking to purchase a Subaru Impreza suspension online can do so at the Subaru company website, as well as online retailers such as eBay Motors.
If someone wants to find more information on suspension for a Subaru Impreza, then the best place to check out would have to be Subaru's official online website.

Electronic Controlled Suspension. That's a nice thought, but, I'm pretty sure this is Subaru's version of the 'Check Engine' light. Electronic Stability Control

The air suspension designs from Land Rover, SsangYong, Subaru and some Audi, VW, and Lexus models, feature height adjustable suspension controlled by the driver, suitable for clearing rough terrain. Optional suspension Subaru LibertySubaru is a great vehicle. The luxery suspension that was an option wasnt. The benefits obtained were a inch and a half additional ride height,Due to the relibility of the optional suspension and the gains provided by it it is not worth fixing.Conventional suspension can be installed with a little looking in salvage yards without a great cost to owner.
Strut towers or the same on all the Impreza models. Yes they will fit.
Trade it on a Legacy. They are already lower. Outback suspension was specifically designed to have a higher ride height. If there is no commercially available suspension lowering kit specific to your Outback, I wouldn't touch it. Although I have never considered altering the suspension, from what I have seen of the clearances in the wheel wells this would be a bad idea, especially for someone who asks the question in this forum. You need a lot of knowledge of suspension geometries and metal working.
There are several features of a WRX and vary on type. The Impreza model includes all wheel drive, subaru boxer engine, turbocharge, track-tuned suspension, and manual transmission.
It's a suspension!
