The honeybee is Tennessee's official agricultural insect.
In 1975.
The Pennsylvania firefly is one of the two state insects of Pennsylvania. The common firefly is a state insect of Tennessee.
That it is a ladybug seven spots on its upper side is a reason why Tennessee's state insect is called Coccinella septempunctata. The ladybird beetle in question serves as a state-designated insect since 1975.
Delaware, Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire (2 spotted), Ohio, Tennessee
Tennessee became a state on June 1, 1796. Tennessee left the Union to join the Confederacy at the beginning of the Civil War. Nashville is the capital city in Tennessee and the state's most populous city. Tennessee is in both the Eastern Time Zone and the Central Time Zone. Clingmans Dome with an elevation of 6,643 feet is the highest point of elevation in Tennessee. Tennessee has many tourist attractions.
As an example of what?15 of the 41 states with a "state insect" have Apis mellifera as their state insect (not counting Tennessee which has it as the state agricultural insect, with the 7-spotted ladybug as the state insect period). It's by far the most popular choice; the second most common one is the Monarch butterfly (5 states; another 2 have it as the state butterfly but not the state insect, and Kentucky has the Viceroy butterfly, which looks almost identical to the Monarch but is a different species, as its state insect).
* The Zebra Swallowtail is the Official State Butterfly. * The Honeybee is the State Agricultural Insect. * The lightning bug and ladybug are Official State Insects.
No, not all ladybugs are designated the Ohio state insect. The icon in question is the seven-spotted ladybug (Coccinella septempunctata), Ohio state insect since 1975. The seven-spotted ladybird, or C-7, also serves as the state insect for Delaware since 1974, Massachusetts since 1974, New Hampshire since 1977, and Tennessee since 1975.

I live in Tennessee. We have four official insects. They are the common eastern firefly, 7-spotted ladybug, European honey bee (state agriculture insect) and the zebra swallowtail butterfly (state butterfly).
There are two: The firefly and the ladybug. :)
