Not much is known about Thaddaeus or Thaddeus (Mat 10:3 also known as Judas in Luke 6:16). He was the son of James and one of the 12 apostles. He was the one who asked Jesus why he would reveal himself to his followers and not to the world (John 14:22).

He is also known as Jude of James, Jude Thaddaeus, and the Roman Catholics name him Saint Jude the Apostle by which he is the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes.
