The Bible is God's inspired word to humankind informing us of the renewal of the Earth for humankind with the beginnings of all life on the planet. It is also a book on the experiences of peoples seen primarily through the House of Israel. It has Prophecies - fulfilled and yet to come and a history of the region of the MiddleEast as it relates to the Israelites. It reveals God's Law and the foibles of mankind as they attempt to govern themselves without their Creator God.

The Bible does not speak to all topics as many have come to believe because God did not need to give us a book that contained information we could learn on our own. Rather than doing that, God gave us exactly what we needed - a book containing information we could never discover alone - knowledge that must be divinely revealed.

This then is exactly the information God has provided to mankind - His 'instruction manual of life.' That is precisely what the Bible is. It is a book of spiritual truth and examples in history of right and wrong ways of living. It contains information about our material world with God's unfolding of spiritual truths to real, physical human beings taken place in real, physical settings and among actual, historical events.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God.

More specifically, it is a set of many books that comprises the sacred text of Christianity. It contains prophesies, stories, and moral guidelines believed by Christians to be divinely inspired by God. It is divided into the Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament contains the creation story and God's dealings with the Hebrew people in the Middle East. The New Testament revolves around the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who is believed to be God in the flesh, and the savior of mankind.

The Bible may refer to several different things:

  1. The Christian holy scriptures, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. Christians believe these books are the word of God and provide the answers to life, death, and salvation.
  2. The Jewish holy scriptures, consisting of the 24 books of the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings. The Torah is believed by Jews to be God's instructions for them to live a holy life.
  3. In a generic sense, it can refer to any book that claims to be the ultimate collection of knowledge on the subject. For example: The Chef's Bible, or The Golfer's Bible.
