Formerly "Armistice Day" from World War I, this special day of remembance is observed on the 11th of November each year. In some countries, such as Australia, it is referred to as Remembrance Day.
*Under a provision of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act in the US, a Monday federal holiday is observed when November 11 falls on a Sunday. In 2012, this holiday was November 12, 2012.
