VANOC is the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. VANOC was incorporated on September 30, 2003, to support and promote the development of sport in Canada by planning, organizing, financing and staging the XXI Olympic Winter Games and X Paralympic Winter Games in 2010.

VANOC's goal for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games was to create theaters for sport and top conditions for athletes. They also sought to make it an exciting place for spectators.
To increase ticket availability, reduce costs and in keep within VANOC's sustainability goals. Using North American size ice surfaces rather than converting to international configurations allowed for approximately 350 to 800 additional spectators to enjoy each game live or approximately 35,000 additional tournament tickets, while also achieving approximately $10 million in capital cost savings which will be allocated to the contingency funding in VANOC's overall $580 million venue construction budget.
The XXI Olympic Winter Games or 21st Winter Olympics is the official name of the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver is the most populous as well as warmest city to host Winter Olympics. The glorious event will commence from 12th to 28th February, 2010. A special event was organized to raise the magnificent Olympic flag on 28th February, 2006. Until the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, the Olympic flag will be displayed at the Vancouver City Hall.Michaelle Jean, Governor General will officially open this world renowned event. In the history of Winter Olympics, this is for the first time that the opening and closing ceremonies will be held indoors at the BC Place Stadium. Richmond Olympic Oval is another competition venue. Winter Olympic Venues which comes under Greater Vancouver are Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre, UBC Winter Sports Centre, Richmond Olympic Oval and Cypress Mountain.GM Place will host the major Ice Hockey events in the 2010 Winter Olympics. In Whistler, the venues to host the Olympic events are Whistler Blackcomb, Whistler Olympic Park and Whistler Sliding Centre.london 2012.
