Why would I use a WINS server?
If you have Windows ME/9x and below systems, use WINS for a NETBIOS name resolution server as DNS does not resolve up NETBIOS.

You don't, its a hack that people use. When your putting in your user name before logging in, you put the & symbol and a code. Then, when you log on, you will have your normal wins added with a bunch of 0's. Like if you have 5 wins and use the hack, you will have 50000 wins. For the loses, NaN means Not a Number. That's for hiding your real loses.
