What you have is a mint token struck on a penny-sized blank. These are included in the uncirculated coin sets issued each year, one for Denver and one for Philadelphia. 1789 is the year that the Treasury Department was established, not the date the token was made.
Sometimes people break up the sets and the tokens slip into circulation because they look like pennies. However, they aren't collectible because they don't have a mintage year on them and they all look alike.

A 1973 6 coin Proof set is $9.00. A 13 coin Uncirculated Mint set is $18.00.
The "S" and the "D" are called mint marks which identify which US Mint produced the coin. Coins with no mint mark prior to 1980 were minted at Philadelphia. Just having an "S" or a "D" mint mark does not mean the coin is worth more. The value of a coin is generally determined by the demand collectors and investors have for the coin. The more people who want to own it, the more it is worth.
From about $1300 to $75,000 depending upon the mint mark and the condition of the coin.
The only coin produced by the US Mint in 1922 was the Lincoln Cent minted in Denver.
I have the same coin and I would value the coin at as little as five dollars based on the condition and the demand it is not worth much
Please supply to me the denomination of this coin (ie, is it a quarter, half dollar, etc.) and the coin's mint state - upon receiving such, I will be able to relay its worth.
In us Dollars a 5 florin coin would be worth about 8-10 dollars if it is in mint condition
No mint mark indicates that it was minted in Philadelphia. The coin is worth exactly one cent.
No. It identifies which mint made the coin. D is for Denver.

What denomination? What mint mark? Please post a new question with enough details to ID the coin.
From about $1300 to $75,000 depending upon the mint mark and the condition of the coin.
This is a U.S. Mint token that was included in Uncirculated Mint sets sold by the Mint for a few years. It's NOT a coin and does not have any real value to a collector.
$22 to $22,000 depending upon the mint mark and the condition of the coin.
