The coin is a NICKEL, not a "nichol" (that's a person's name, fwiw).
1912 was the last year that the Liberty Head design was issued. You need to look on the back of the coin next to the dot that appears around the 7:00 position to see if there is a small D or S.
Most likely you have the common variety without a D or S; its value range is $3 to $10.
If there is a small "D" near the dot, the coin is worth anywhere from $4 in worn condition to maybe $35 if only slight wear is visible.
If there is a small "S" near the dot, the range is $150 to $500, but there are many counterfeits so if you have one of these coins it should be inspected by a dealer or appraiser.
Its worth about 2 dollarsss
The US never minted a silver cent. For starters, it would be worth more than a dime! If you have a Lincoln cent from 1912, it was plated for use in jewelry or something similar. That makes it an altered coin worth face value only. Unplated, its value could have been much more depending on its condition and mint mark.

When the coin was minted back in 1943, it was worth exactly one cent. It had no special additional value.
