This question comes up regularly. "TRVST" is notmisspelt. In the early part of the 20th century it was common for artists to use the Roman alphabet in works featuring classical themes. The Roman alphabet had only 24 letters; V was both a vowel and a consonant. You had to know which from its context, the same way we use the letter Y in both roles. The same spelling is also found on U.S. quarters from 1916 to 1930, and on many buildings, medals, and paintings.
