That all depends on the shape that it is in. A straight neck, no chips, dents, etc.. Original Pick ups on it will increase help keep the Guitars value. Refinishing this guitar will actually make it worth less. This was the first year Gibson reissued the 62 SG. The neck is slim and the guitar is lightning fast. I have one. I bought it 30 years ago for $349.00. Then the Les Paul Standard was $350.00 only a dollar more! I would not even think of parting with my SG. So it is priceless. I have had offers a few years ago of $4,00.00 - $5,000. Excellent condition. One owner.

∙ 14y agoFirst and foremost, I feel I should point out the Les Paul is not a French translation of The Paul. These guitars are named after a chap called Les Paul. Just a friendly pointer.
Secondly, a 78 Les Paul in top condition might fetch $1500 - $2000.

∙ 12y agoThe Gibson SG new is over a thousand dollars today and depending on the condition of the guitar it could range from $3000-$5000 dollars depending on the model and the condition
P.S. do not try to sell at a pawn shop or to a guitar center asa they will give you less than half its true value
Sell it to a collector or someone who stands to have no ambition to resale
If you sell it on eBay start at at least $2000
