A Martin for sure...I think its a D-35.
If I am not mistaken he was an avid user of Martin Acoustic Guitars. As for which model, I am not completely certain. I would guess the D-35 or D-28, on account I know he used those models. You can buy a Martin D-35 "Cash" edition, which is suppose to be to his liking.
In circulated condition it has no added value.

My guess would be that it was plated with gold (or a gold-colored metal) after minting, and that it is thus worth about a penny.
