The hf is the lowest (least powerful) engine option for the civic crx. There were three options available in 1985. The hf, with the least power (I believe somwhere around 55 hp) and the highest gas mileage ( I believe between 45-55 mpg). The dx, in the middle, with I believe around 75 hp and 38-48 mpg The si, I believe around 95 hp and 30-40 mpg.
