I actually have the same question, as I was just given a huge US flag with 40 stars. There must be a story.... because there were only 40 states for one day, in 1889. North Dakota came in on November 1, South Dakota on the second and Montana on the third.
Ultrastar 40 should be worth between $200 and $300 if in great shape.
40 CENTIMOS
5-250 USD or so
This is a very common US regular issue stamp. If you want to buy just one it will probably cost you from 10 to 25 cents at a stamp store for a copy, mint or used. 25-40 cents for a mint copy If you want to order it by mail, you would have to pay postage and handling in addition. Dealers get them as part of larger lots for almost nothing per stamp- 65% face and 1/20 cent if used. The money they would charge you for it is mostly for labor.
If it is uncirculated, it can be worth up to $40. If it is circulated, it's probably worth no more than $5. It will be worth more if there is a star after the serial number.
Prices range from a mere $5 to 40$
Prices range from a mere $5 to 40$
30-40 dollars more than the face value
A complete series set is worth between $40 - $55 depending on condition (Fair - Mint).
It is not possible to predict the future. It could be worth a fortune or nothing, it depends on the collectors market in 40 years. If there's no demand then they'll be all but worthless.
A 2004 American Silver Eagle in Uncirculated condition is worth about $17. Proof is worth about $40.
