you need at least 50 psi to run and 55 or so to keep it running
thats with cpi engine the others use less pressure and a different fuel pump....
You need 60 psi or it will not start.
its a bad fuel pump. it works enough to keep it running but it isn't putting out enough pressure.
Check for proper fuel pressure in the 1997 Talon. The engine appears to be starving for fuel and only has enough pressure to start.
If the engine is running, you will destroy the starter and possibly the flywheel/pressure plate.
For most vehicles, the fuel pump only turns on briefly when you try to start the engine. If the engine doesn't start, the pump turns off. You need to test the fuel pressure with the engine running.
Engine Seized?
It is the same as it is when you check the compression when the engine is not running. It does not change. It will only get worse as engine wears with time and as miles start adding up on the engine.
oil pressure switch. went it go bad it will turn off gas pump
The oil pressure is zero when the engine is not running. The oil pressure sensor will read the low pressure for a second, when the engine first starts.
No, it would not start.
there is a port on the fuel rail going to the throttle body...remove your air cleaner and hook your guage to it...start the engine...monitor the guage
BAD FUEL PUMP. Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. You did not say what year it was or engine size, this would help with the answer.
