The Boeing 707 was a single-aisled four-engined jet aircraft manufactured by Boeing between 1958 and 1978. It was one of the aircraft that started the Jet Age in passenger air transport.
The 707 had up to 200 seats. They were largely superseded by the Boeing 747, and were directly replaced with the Boeing 757 and 767. TWA operated the last US 707 passenger service in 1983, and today (2010) only 58 of the 1010 built are in active service, all with cargo airlines.
