Juma comes from the Arabic word for "group" (جمع) and, in Islam, it refers to a group of people who pray as a congregation.
That's Friday. Muslims celebrate it by praying and reading Quran. And Juma means a group. In muslim countries , Friday is a holiday because , muslims were ordered to do a current prayers "Juma prayers" at noon on Friday on it's time and you can't pray it if you're not in a mosque.
JUMA (FRIDAY PRAYER)
Juma is Farz-e-Ain meaning obligatory on all individuals. It's obligation is more important than Zohr and those who reject it is a Kafir [Durr-e-Mukhtar, etc.]. It is quoted in the Hadith that those who miss three Jumas has thrown Islam behind them, and he is a hypocrite and is disassociated from Allah [Ibne-Khuzaima, Imam Shafaee].
Juma is when a group of Muslims gather to pray. It is a great feeling, and it earns Muslims more sawab.
